Best Products for Disinfecting Your Vehicle

Like our staff at Eide CDJR, you’ve likely been taking extra care to wash your hands and regularly disinfect your home, phone, and computer.

What about your vehicle? Considering the current events, it’s a good time for some early spring cleaning. 

In response to the coronavirus, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is compiling a list of products that meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. 

There are nearly 300 products on the list, and they are all good options for disinfecting your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, or other vehicle during the coronavirus outbreak.

The EPA expects these products to be effective against COVID-19 based on:

• Demonstrated efficacy against a harder-to-kill virus;
• Qualified for the emerging viral pathogens claim; or
• Demonstrated efficacy against another human coronavirus similar to SARS-CoV-2.

How to Disinfect Your Car

Whether you have disposable disinfectant wipes, or a spray bottle with paper towels to throw away, it’s time to get to work on sanitizing your vehicle!

Make sure you don’t miss these spots on your vehicle when cleaning:

• All door handles (inside and outside)
• The steering wheel
• Media console knobs, buttons, and touchscreen
• Window buttons
• Dash
• All seats
• Sunroof button
• Storage consoles
• Gas cap

It’s also a wise idea to keep disinfectant in your car during this time. You can use it to sanitize regularly, as well as wiping down gas pump handles before filling your tank.
