How Plug-In Hybrids Work 

Here are the basics: 

• This Jeep runs on both gas and electricity. This way, you get the option of extra range without having to worry about charging every night.
• Every 4xe comes with a Level I (120 V) charging system that plugs into any typical outlet. You can also find various public charging stations in the area, including right here at Eide Chrysler in Pine City.
• This type of vehicle qualifies you for a federal income tax credit of $7,500 + any possible state or local incentives in your area.

The Level I battery that comes with the vehicle, can fully charge in 12 hours and charging times can be scheduled to be at night when electric utility charges are generally cheaper. 

Another option for charging is the Level II battery, which can completely charge your Wrangler 4xe in just two hours. This type of battery can easily be installed by a licensed and vetted professional after a short consultation. 

Choose Your Mode

You have control over how your vehicle uses its power. Choose your driving mode to best fit your trip: 

• Hybrid mode: Default mode, uses electric power first. Combines torque from both the turbocharged engine and the electric motors, allowing for maximum horsepower and the best acceleration. 

• Electric mode: Use this mode when you want to drive electric only and your battery is charged over 1%. Drive up to 21 miles while hitting highway speeds with no tailpipe emissions. 

• Esave mode: This saves your battery charge and uses the 2.0L engine. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off.
